Requirements: I'm going to be using Visual Basic to create a program of my choice that I will be working on over my fall semester at college. I've been trying to think of a project that I can do over the semester that I can tackle-I've only taken two programming courses before so I wanted to do something that won't be too hard AND won't take an incredible amount of time since most of the class will be spent doing other assignments and studying the language itself. The project's more of a side project that we do over the semester and present it in late November.
Idea: Anyways, I thought that a personal movie database program would be a good thing to try and create, where a user such as myself can enter in movies they've seen, own, etc. I'm guessing I'd make a UI of some sort that uses a database that contains movies with characteristics such as title, date, actors, personal rating, comments, whether I've seen it, whether I own it, etc. Is this is a good idea or would this be too hard for a somewhat beginner programmer? I haven't used vb before but I have coded in Java in addition to some C#.
Thanks for your input, I hope this was the correct place to post this thread.
