Example text in text box

Hi ive noticed in various websites or programs when the user first loads the program and it has several textboxes that are filled with example text showing how it should be formatted. Usually the font is like italic or in a light gray color. Once the user clicks in that box, the example goes away. Is there a way i can do that with my .net program? I know there is a default text but I'm not sure that's it. I want it to disappear when the user enters the text box and once the text is removed, the example should show back up.
