VS 2005 General question

This is a general question that I am just throwing out there. I primarily code in VB.NET 2005 using Windows Forms, not a lot of experience with anything else. Our company is switching vendors where we get our data from. With the old vendor I had access to the SQL databases and tables and could pull data and convert it to my system quite easily. I am not going to have that type of access anymore. I will be using the vendors API to get to our data.

My problem is that I have no clue on how to log into their system through some kind of program that I can write that will run nightly for automatic downloads. I have been given a root URL that I can then add parameters to that will allow me access to our data. Ex: https://xxxxxx.xxxxxxx.com/WRAPI/ControlPanel/api.php

I can add GET parameters to this to get to my data, I just have no idea how to do this in VB.NET Windows Form code. I am thinking it is not possible but I just don't know. I did some research over the weekend and I just can't find any example code but it may be I am just not asking it correctly from Google.

Any kind of direction would be greatly appreciated.

Ron
